Neptune Aquatic Center Ocean Mile
The Neptune Aquatic Center hosts an ocean-mile swim with easy logistics in Ocean Grove,
between Asbury Park and Bradley Beach. It's popular with younger swimmers as well as the masters set.

Register on the boardwalk at Embury Ave.
Registration opens at 7:30 AM.
Early registration online is available through Friday (discounted price, no service charge).
Free parking on street or in big lot on beach end of Broadway Avenue.
You may need to hunt a little.
There are public restrooms, separate changing rooms, and outdoor showers on
boardwalk adjacent to registration.
Leave bag on beach behind the start/finish area.
Permitted, not popular.
Start on beach at Embury Ave, behind registration.
Running start from beach into surf.
The swim follows a flat up-and-back (north then south) course marked with three buoys.
Swim out to the first buoy and make a left-shoulder turn.
Continue parallel to the shoreline for about a half mile.
Keep landward of all buoys for this northbound leg.
When you reach the red buoy marking the halfway point,
make a hairpin turn to reverse course towards the starting beach.
Be wary of oncoming swimmers as you both approach and leave this turn.
Continue parallel to the shoreline as you head back towards Embury Avenue.
Keep seaward of all buoys for this southbound leg until you reach the third and final
buoy at Embury Avenue.
Make a right-shoulder turn and head straight into shore.
Finish where you started.
Running finish from surf onto beach and into chute.
Body marking, time clock.
